So I realized in my pity post from Monday that I didn't tell you ANYTHING about my weekend except for the fact that I was missing my brother on the holiday.
Friday evening, I had an awesome time relaxing at home. Work was super stressful and busy ALL DAY LONG. I went in at 8 a.m. and got off work around 6:30 or so. The branch was busy from the time I got there until around 5:45. We closed at 6. It was that busy. It was pay day, It was before a holiday where lots of people needed cash for fireworks, and it was also before the bank was closed on Monday. I shortened my lunch break by 15 minutes, and because I stayed late on Thursday and came in early on Friday, I got into over time for last week! Sweet action, love that time and a half!
Late Friday evening, I got a phone call from my aunt Jessica and she asked if I wanted to join their family for an impromptu float trip. My answer was heck yes! ha ha. We left home around 7 a.m., drove to Tahlequah, and went on a 4-mile float on the Illinois. IT. WAS. AWESOME. I always love float trips and wish we would go a lot during the summer. They're so much fun!
We then spent the remainder of the day just hanging out, and went and bought fireworks later that evening. We bought a big package of night time stuff for Jacob to shoot off for us once darkness fell. I helped pay for it this year, as I actually have a job now and can afford it. I also treated myself to some Sam Adams Summer Ale for the holiday. Freaking love it.
Sunday morning I went to church, and then did a little retail therapy afterwards. Edith, MacKenzie, their friend Hannah and I went out to eat in Owasso and then went to the mall. I bought a good pair of shoes for work, a pair of jean shorts (because I don't have any), and two pairs of sunglasses. It was exactly what I was looking for when I went out to the mall.
I got to spend all day Monday relaxing at the house. I slept almost all day...it kicked my butt yesterday at work.
Today was nice, I didn't have to go into work until noon, and then tomorrow I go in at 7 and get off at 1. The hours this week are kind of nice, and something I look forward to for a long term thing...it'll be nice to have random weeks where I'll have an entire afternoon all to myself. It'll be even nicer when I'm in my apartment complex with my swimming pool...can't wait!
Hope you all are having a great (short) week! It's almost over!

A blizzard? In the midwest? YES I KNEW THAT.
So in case you haven't heard, the midwest region had a blizzard beginning on Monday evening. What does that mean for this lady who hates cold temperatures, wind chills and snow? It means four days of cancelled classes only to be filled with being an old lady. And by old lady I mean, I sat in my bed for around 36 hours reading books or watching movies and accompanying that with glasses of hot tea. I'm not your typical 23 year old and that's okay.
I did give my eyes a rest yesterday when I went to watch our men's basketball team take on the Baylor Bears, and can I say that it was the perfect break from the house. One, I heart me some basketball, and two it was a damn good game. The final score was Baylor 66, OU 73 but the score doesn't give it justice to the feel of the game. The crowd even did the wave during one of the TV timeouts, and that's something that doesn't happen too often inside our basketball arena (football, now that's a pretty impressive wave). Because of the weather, the game was postponed from Tuesday evening, and they had free admission. Not many students came out still, but I very much enjoyed sitting in the very front row where I could see the sweat drip off of the beautiful Cade Davis' face. And trust me, it was beautiful.
I'm probably the only person in this house that does not have cabin fever. I would much rather stay in my comfy bed all day than leave. I hate getting bundled up, and I hate how hot I get once I get inside again. So these days without class have been perfect so that I would not have to bundle up.
But it is going to be oh so difficult to find motivation to be productive in classes for next week. And I still have 2 or 3 homework assignments I need to do. lamesauce.
I hope that those of you who have gotten to stay home because of the weather have enjoyed your days off as much as I have. And if you didn't get any time off, well I hope this weekend coming up is as restful as you need it to be.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's Fab Friend Friday feature. I can't wait to start spot lighting all of my lovely friends each week (and no, this technically won't be my weekly thing that I mentioned in this post because I am borrowing the hop from For the Love of Blogs). I also have a pretty laid back weekend coming up with a few adventures planned for Saturday afternoon. I hope you have some fun adventures coming up too!
Happy almost weekend friends!

Phoenix Relaxation is Just What I Love!
Yesterday, I played Lego Harry Potter all afternoon after Erika went back to work from lunch. Did I mention I was addicted to the game? Oh yeah, I did. My bad. So once Erika and Matt got home from work, Erika joined me on the Wii whil Matt and Brandin got ready for a basketball game. We played the Wii until the end of the first stage of Year 4 on HP, and then Erika treated me to this place for dinner:
HOLY AMAZING! I really wish that we had these around Oklahoma. I had the Baja Burrito, and the tortilla on it was just AMAZING. I don't even know how to accurately describe it. I wasn't too crazy about any of the salsas, but they weren't bad. They were just okay.
Upon our return from our adventure to Baja Fresh, we watched Grey's Anatomy (well, I watched bits and pieces of it) and then episode after episode of Jersey Shore. Erika and Matt went to bed just before the season premiere, and then I stayed up and read until I was tired. I ended up reading in the living room by myself until almost 1 a.m., and I still wasn't too tired. I definitely felt it this morning.
My intentions for this morning were to get up at 8:30 and go for a little run around downtown Phoenix, to see the town for myself a bit and to get a run in. It's been far too long since I've ran, and quite frankly, I miss running. Well, when my alarm went off, I could not open my eyes, so it took me a minute to hit snooze. After hitting snooze for about 20 minutes, I finally turned it off and reset my alarm. After FINALLY prying myself out of bed at 9:30, I knew I wouldn't have enough time to go for a run and then shower and be completely ready before meeting Erika and Jen for lunch at noon. So I sat up, read about 10 pages in Harry Potter 7 (to the end of the chapter), and then hopped in the shower to try to wake myself up more. I did eventually wake up, but I've been feeling groggy all day.
Erika, Jen, and I ate at a place called Coach & Willie's, and it was a couple blocks away from where both of them work (Jen works for the Phoenix Suns/Mercury). The three of us had a fun little lunch together, talking about the things that were on SportsCenter, and some coworkers of theirs. Now I'm just relaxing back at the apartment, doing some laundry, and will be getting into some Lego HP again soon :)
On the agenda for this weekend: relax, go out, and begin my trek back to Oklahoma.
Happy Friday everyone, and I hope you have a FANTASTIC weekend ahead!
