What a Weekend!

SO. Thursday evening I went out to celebrate being what I thought was the end of testing and papers. But as I explained in my last post, I was mistaken. But still, I went and hung out with our coaches from FIJI after we WON Tug-of-War in FIJI Olympics! I also realized that I may have possibly pulled or strained on of my quads. This is fantastic seeing as how I am in the half marathon next Sunday....awesome. Anyways, after all the fun-ness that was hanging out with our amazing coaches plus FINALLY getting to hang out with PC X, I had to take care of someone who had a bit too much. That was slightly depressing, but she's safe and sound :)

After all the celebrating, I went to class on Friday, which TOTALLY cramped my style. We are no longer being tested over any of the material in the class so it made it COMPLETELY difficult to stay awake (I had gotten about 4 hours of sleep!)

Friday night was probably one of the best times I've ever had! My pledge class through Panhellenic sorority decided to go on a pub crawl on campus corner! It was seriously probably one of the best times we've had as a pledge class, and there was no drama! SO much fun!:


Saturday morning, I got up a little early to help entertain some alumnae members from the '98-'00 pledge classes, and got to meet quite a few of my sisters. Then I realized that I was about to experience my last home game as an undergrad, and it made me kind of sad . . . so to fix this, I sat with my little/roommate and enjoyed the game with her, one of her brothers, and her father. It was a very sentimental moment for me, but I was so glad that my Sooners won my final home game!

Later that night after the game, a group of us sisters went to a pizza joint that is really close to our house. While at the pizza place, we decided that we all wanted ice cream, but none of us could decide on one together. So what did we do? We decided to do an ice cream crawl! The six of us went to three different ice cream places in Norman! It was slightly ridiculous.

Sunday seemed like the longest day ever, but it was such an amazing day! At noon, I went to have a brotherhood event for APO, and we played games that were silly and entertaining. Then I came back home to get all prettied up and ready for APO initiation. We had a fellowship before, where we all ate together while waiting to be initiated. Initiation was like, MAYBE 20 minutes long, I didn't quite know what to do with myself! Afterwards we took pictures together . . . here's one of my pledge class:

After I took care of some elections stuff with Alpha Gam, we had a post-initiation pledge fellowship at our pledgemaster's apartment. EVERYONE was ridiculous. I got home from that at about 2 a.m.

Today, I have been a good student: I went to all my classes, read some of the chapter that I need to use for my paper that is due on Friday, looked up questions for College Bowl, did a group project, WENT to my College Bowl meeting, and I also attended the men's basketball game (for like 20 minutes).

I am ONE BUSY PERSON.

This week/weekend will be too much for me to handle, hopefully it doesn't get too crazy and fly by too fast!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN/INITIATION WEEK!

Like I said in my last post, Saturday was perfection. I was thoroughly exhausted from my late night on Friday night, but I kept on truckin' through the day, and it was AMAZING. On Saturday, I got up and went and dropped off some presents that I had bought for my uncle off. Unfortunately, I wasn't there so I didn't get to see if he liked them or not. I got him a Dad's day t-shirt from my sorority, a flag from the OU/Air Force game that has OU with camo in the background, and a sticker that says "OU DAD" (tee hee). I'm sure he loved it all because it was from me, but I would have liked to have seen his reaction to them all.

I then drove back home to quickly shower and get ready for the day. Upon my arrival, there was a party in my room. We had about 4-5 sisters in our room, so I just looked at them all, said sorry guys I need to shower, and stripped to my towel wrap in front of them. When I got OUT of the shower, there were EVEN MORE people in our room. I like it when they visit, but wasn't a fan of having to wait to get dressed. Soon, they all cleared out to shower and get ready as well. I then went downstairs to set up my booth of Thirty-One product (I'm an independent sales rep, kind of. I'm trying to get started), and of course no one was downstairs. So I just sat down and waited until the family got here. When they arrived, I took them up the stairs and showed them around my house and how I live. Then I decided that I was going to take them to the tailgating areas so they can see how I spend my football Saturdays :)

At my friend Andrew's tailgate, he requested that everyone dress up. He was dressed up as Tron, and I had no idea who Tron was. Andrew is my friend that likes to party 24/7. He graduated from OU with THREE Bachelor's degrees, and is doing something in the city. I have no idea what that something is. Well, Andrew started his pre-gaming at about 10 o'clock Saturday morning. He also drank some four loko. Not a good combo. By the time I got to his tailgate at 3:30, I introduced him to my family and he was coherent and talking back, but when I saw him later he says "It's about damn time you got here. The fucking football game is about to start and you are sober!" He apparently was blacked out the whole hour that I was hanging out at his tailgate. You need to calm the eff down sir.

I left Andrew's tailgate and went and hung out with my AEII friends at their tailgate. They just had about 10 people at theirs, so their tailgate was nice and chill. Then we went on the hunt for David a sweatshirt. I took them to Heisman park, and then we ended up doing almost a full circle around the stadium to get to the bookstore so we could buy him a sweatshirt. There were tailgaters and stuff, but it was the most dead pre-gaming I've seen in the 5 football seasons I've been in Norman. I was very disappointed.

Lastly, I took the family over to the Health and Exercise Sciences Student Association (HESSA) tailgate to meet some of my professors. [HESSA is the club for my major that I'm involved in.] I sat at that tailgate for about 25 minutes, and then had to leave to meet up at the gate to run the flag. (If you don't know what that entails, check out my post here) I was very excited to be having my baby brother run the flag with me, and he said directly "I think I'm more pumped about this and being on OU's field again than I was for my game last night." That's pretty freakin' sweet to me, to have my brother be excited about what I do with my other Greek organization :)

After the game, I pretty much booted my parents out the door so I could go to the 5.3 billion Halloween parties I got invited to (ok, that may be a slight exaggeration). I ended up only going to one party, but it was such a blast! My soul twin Andy was there, along with people that I hung out with 24/7 freshman year, some fellow APO members, and at the end of the night I found 3 sorority sisters also in attendance. The party was SO much fun! I was boring and re-used my flapper costume from last week, but all in all I had a blast. I had Hoxie drive me home at 3:30 because I had meetings all day today and I was exhausted. I know 3:30 is really late, but I didn't get there until almost 1:30 because of the game!

Today I am in meetings for sorority pretty much all day, then tonight after chapter is our first initation ceremony. We will be initating 66 members with this pledge class (rock on!)

Tonight, I will be watching my YOUNGEST BROTHER play his final home game (of the regular season). TIME FLIES SO FAST! AHHHHhhhhh!!!!!! (mini-freak-out moment) I must say, I think my brothers are kind of studs, but I'm biased. My hometown will definitely make it to playoffs this year, they are undefeated as of right now and have 2 more games, tonight against Cascia Hall and two weeks from tonight against Blackwell. It has been a long time since my hometown has started the season off with a 7-0 record. I'm so so so so so so so so proud of them. I'm also pretty excited to be graduating (from college) at the same time one of my brothers is graduating (from high school), even if it DOES mean I spent 5 years in college.

--They say graduating college in 4 years is like leaving a party at 10:30, and since I don't show up until 11 usually, I'm golden. I don't know who "they" is but I like their style

Right now I'm just hanging around and waiting for my friend Sam to get out of class so I can drive us home to our lovely hometown, and I thought I'd give a little update :)

So I went over to the CACA house last night, and stayed there until about 12:30. Couldn't fall asleep until probably almost 4 this morning (hence the 3:30 a.m. post), and slept right through the first 45 minutes of my class.....FAILLLL. Thank goodness it's a 2 hour and 45 minute class, or else I would have missed the whole thing. Also, my professor (who is the faculty advisor for the club for my major) laughed when I told him I actually didn't go out the night before his class. He basically told me that maybe I SHOULD drink the night before classes because I don't oversleep (thanks Dr. Hofford, you're a pretty cool man with your soul patch).

After showing up to class after the break, we did a little in-class assignment that was a lot of fun. This class is Comprehensive Stress Management, and Dr. Hofford is one of the best professors I've ever had. This assignment was us explaining what our perfect day would entail.

Once class was over, I got advised for next semester (ONE CREDIT HOUR IS ALL I NEED!), went to the bursar office to find that my scholarship is STILL not in, and then came back.

This weekend is Dad's Day on campus (slash-family weekend), so I cleaned my room then got ready to go home. Mom, mom's boyfriend, and both brothers will be joining me for the game tomorrow. OH, and the brothers will be running the flag with me. Don't know what that entails? Check the picture of what we do here:

that's right, I get to help wave the 200 + pound flag during pregame. I'm actually in this picture, this was at the Cotton Bowl for OU/TX. Pretty legit huh??? I love it. I'm so excited to be doing this with my brothers, it's an experience none of us will forget.

Sam just texted me, so it's time for me to hit the road!
