There's a (cute) reason behind my sporadic posting...

I promise, there's a really good reason as to why I haven't been writing a whole lot. You see, I needed a couple days or so to organize my thoughts and pictures into what I would want to share about my trip and how I wanted to share it.

Then, that Saturday night after I returned, I went out with one of the girls I had been going out with weeks before my vacation to our usual spot. There's a local bar here in the town I live in that has PHENOMENAL drink specials every weekend. And it was at this bar that I met a boy (man?). That's right, I met a boy. The girl I am friends with knows the guys he is friends with, and we both came to this bar with our sets of friends off and on in the months before we met. But every time he went, I wouldn't, or I would, and he wouldn't. But that night was one of the bartenders' birthday, and we both made sure that we went for it.

The night that we met, I couldn't figure him out at all. He first complimented my cowboy boots. But then with every exchange between us the rest of the night, I couldn't tell if he was just being super nice or if he was trying to make a move. I purposely sought him out at the end of the night when I was leaving, hoping he would use the opportunity to ask for my number, or anything, and he didn't. So I just shrugged it off to him being a very nice guy. Meh.

The next day I texted my girl friend to tell her I was sorry for not coming back after the little mini concert I went to (it was Free Tulsa that weekend, a big music festival in downtown Tulsa), and then I was going to eventually ask her about him once I figured out how to say what I wanted to say. Just before I got the courage to ask about him, she texts me and says "PS, I think D has a lil crush on you :-)"....basically the conversation ended with her telling me he had added me on facebook and that he had asked about me all day while I was at work.

I got on facebook and D and I messaged each other back and forth for about an hour before we finally exchanged phone numbers. The next thing I know, we're still having a conversation at 2 o'clock in the morning. No big deal for him since he doesn't work Mondays, TERRIBLE for me.

So what to know about D? He's wonderful. And a gentleman. And we laugh SO MUCH when we're together because he's kind of silly. And I have been my normal special self around him, and he still likes me for some reason.

I introduced him to the best friend last week, and she approves. And now she and I are trying to figure out how to plan our social lives now that I am the one with the boyfriend around, and her boyfriend is back at school. Because I do not usually have boyfriends.

Oh, and another thing about D? Yeah, he's boyfriend :)

......and a picture of us from Saturday if you don't follow me on instagram...

Meet Mr. Attractive

So here's the sitch on soon-to-be banker Mr. Attractive.

I met him for the first time on Valentine's Day (yes I know, cliche. It's okay.). I currently work as a teller for a local bank, and as a teller we have a path of certifications to follow. Well once I hit Teller II, I have the option of staying on as a teller and working toward Teller Supervisor or switching to become a banker. I decided to start on the path of a banker, and this caused forced enrollment in the "how to become a banker" class.

First day of class, I sat in the back row (like a bad student) between a guy who works at my branch and some other rando. Once the guy who works at my branch came in (being the last one in), our instructor started the icebreaker game. I quickly realized that I was the only girl in this class. whomp whomp. So we started the icebreaker, and the goal of it was to find something unique you had in common with each of the other peoplein the class. I went through a lot of the other people in the class, and then last, or second to last, I meet Mr. Attractive. I instantly was attracted. I don't really know why exactly, but I was kind of speechless.

Then after the icebreaker, the instructor switched it up. Mr. Attractive ended up being seated next to me. SCORE! I spent the next two days of training pining after him without really knowing why. Pretty much everyone in the class could tell too. Except for Mr. Attractive. That's how it always seems to go!

I tried to not think about it, and then finally last week I decided to text Mr. Attractive's coworker and ask what the deal was about him. Coworker's response? "I KNEW, I KNEEEEEEEEEEEWWW YOU WERE FLIRTING WITH HIM HARDCORE! I tried to tell him too." Our conversation continued on in a similar manner, until toward the end he said he would say something to him the next day at work if I wanted him to. I then asked if he should say something or if I should. His next response? "Well I already said something, and he seemed pretty excited, he's already talking about going on a double, so you can get all dolled up and I'll get a girl lined up and we'll plan it out." SUPER EXCITED.

Then I went out for Fat Tuesday and tried not to think about it. But it's all I could think about. Fast forward to Thursday, and Coworker informs me that he has given Mr. Attractive my number. Enter panic mode.

But now it's Tuesday, and I still haven't heard from him. It's starting to get a little discouraging, but I don't know what else I can do. Coworker claims Mr. Attractive is just shy, but seriously?! If we both know the other is interested, why is this so hard?

Why are guys so damn complicated?! My coworker said it best: "If we (men) were easy, you wouldn't want us.".....very true. I know this firsthand.

Any advice for me? Just wait it out?? HELP!

Trying something a little new!

I know I don't have very many followers/readers, and that is partly because I NEVER update. I've been reading a blog lately that I stumbled upon from my best friend through twitter (everyone read it now, it's so good!: http://fairytale-beginning.blogspot.com ), and from that I decided that I wanted to be more active with my blogging.

When I first created my blog, I was frustrated with an unrequited high school love. I would sit on here day after day and complain about how much I cared for him and I felt like I wasn't getting the same kind of feelings back from him. Basically, it was unnecessary high school drama that I let follow me to college.

Since then, I have become a much more positive person in general, and I'm probably one of the happiest people you'll meet. I decided that maybe if I changed the way things looked on my page, I might actually want to blog on an almost daily basis. (I say this now, and then will probably come up with some excuse tomorrow as to why I didn't get on here.)

Please bear with me. Some things may sound so juvenile, but I still participate in juvenile activities since I'm technically not a fully responsible adult just yet and am trying to enjoy my last two semesters in college before I have to take on a little bit more responsibility.

Here's a little update on where my life is now, and where I want it to go in the near (and distant) future (in case we haven't spoken in a while):

  • I am in my second to last semester at the University of Oklahoma. I will graduate in May with a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Exercise Sciences. I've got the worst senioritis in the world
  • I am a member of two Greek organizations, one through Panhellenic Council, and the other is a co-ed service fraternity. Through these organizations, I have met some amazing people and can honestly call a bunch of them my best friends
  • I don't keep in touch with very many people from high school. When you're in college and in a college town, things are so different from friends who never had this experience. I'm not rude to them, they just don't know the every day details of my life like my friends at school do.
  • Once I graduate, I will be taking one of two, possibly three routes:
  1. I will be applying to be a leadership consultant for my Panhellenic sorority. This is a year-long commitment that I get excited about every tim I think about it!
  2. I will be going back home and taking 2-3 classes at a local community college. From there,I will apply to the OU nursing program to begin in June/July 2012. I want to go through the accelrated BSN (Bachelor's of Science in Nursing) program. [yes, I will have 2 Bachelor's degrees if I go this route.]
  3. I will be applying to Teach for America and hope I get in. From there, I will wait to see where I am sent. This would beinteresting to me because it is kind of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do good for others. I would be basically living completely on my own in a different place than where I already know. So exciting to me!
  • After all this living, I eventually would like to pack up everything and move to London for a few years. I visited London about 5 years ago, and fell in love. I can't wait to get back!
  • After London, I'd FINALLY be ready to settle down. I'm not quite sure if a marriage is in my future or not yet, but I definitely know I want to adopt children if it isn't.

All of these are pretty selfish goals, but somewhere in the past few years, I've discovered that I need to do things to make ME happy, and every single one of these would do just that. If I find someone who is fantastic enough to share these things that make me happy, then I wouldn't hesitate to get married. But until then, I don't really want to waste anyone's time.

Hope you enjoyed my first post back!

DAY NUMBER TWO.

today was abnormally long, which probably started because I didn't get up at 7 like I have been. For some reason last night I just could not get to sleep, and I definitely felt it today. I got up about 45 minutes before class started, so that was where I went wrong from the get-go.

I didn't feel so great, so after Choctaw class, I came back and took a nap, then the roomie woke me up so we could go to Zoology together. I actually learned something very intriguing in Zoo today, I never realized that the reason why rice && beans get served together at Mexican restaurants is due to the fact that these two side dishes hold all 8 of the essential amino acids! So guess what I shall be eating more of?

basically all day I have been with Meridith, which is great because now we are getting along a lot better than what we were right before Christmas break. I would probably go home with her this weekend if I hadn't already made plans.

speaking of plans, Lauren is wanting me to go to a hooka bar with her. I'm not quite sure about this. from what I've been told it's pretty much harmless, but still, it is tobacco. it doesn't have tar or nicotene in it..I don't know, I'd like to try cuz you only live once, but stuff like that worries me (as most people should know).....either way, I probably WON'T be going..who knows?

I'm so excited to be going to Paradigm tonight! I stopped going toward the end of last semester, and I don't really know why. But I saw Hailee yesterday in the Union and told her I should be there.

well I just got back from a work out with Mere && Tony, so I shall be getting in the shower and getting ready for Paradigm! ta-ta

ONE MORE THING: I was watching some of season 2 of GREY'S ANATOMY last night with Caroline, Lisa, && Katie, and a quote really stood out to me. Now if y'all are avant Grey's watchers, maybe you can correct the exact wording of it, but it is where Christina is talking to George shortly after the Meredith-George fiasco, and she says something along the lines of:

"...stop expecting crap && demand something more."
there's a reason this stood out to me...yep.
................................................................................................
Paradigm was absolutely amazing tonight. I'm so glad I went. It was nice to be surrounded by fellow believers, a feeling I had almost forgotten..

no hooka!! the girls I was supposed to go with changed the day to tomorrow night, and I already have plans tomorrow night.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the women's game this Saturday! It's going to be soooo much fun!

you know, I thought I'd be ok..but I caved tonight. I really miss him. =( but that new boy is super cute too! =) too bad I can't talk to him without lookin' at my feet.. :-S

well that is certainly enough for today. I'm exhausted, good night!

Trying out a new blog =)

ok, so I'm new to this whole thing, but I love to blog and found my old blog site boring and no one reading it. =( so I felt it was time to move on [Thank you Mel for showing me to the light!!]

anyways, so not many people know, but now that I am at college, I am having issues with a past boyfriend. I really really still care about him a lot, but sometimes his actions show me he doesn't feel the same for me. So instead of constantly causing myself heartache over and over again, I decided to slowly, but surely, make my way out of the relationship. If it's meant to be [which at this point I still hope it is] it will find its way again someday.

my strategy?? when he calls, only answer about every 3rd call. This has worked so far! [mind you, he's only called once] but I am very proud of it because I wanted to call him back immediately but let a good friend talk me out of it =)

not that I don't love the guy, but I feel that at this point I deserve something better in my life than what he is giving me. After all, I just started my new life last August!!

And quite frankly, my life is amazing.

So I'm walking straight into new dating..any takers?? lol just kidding. I already have someone in mind =)
